Keto barcode & food lookup

Enter a barcode or type a packaged product name to see net carbs, ingredients, and a keto verdict when data allows.

How it works

  1. Barcode or name. Use the Barcode tab for digits, or Food to type a brand or packaged product.
  2. Instant analysis. We look up available nutrition and ingredient facts from product data sources.
  3. Get your verdict. Receive a keto verdict, net carb count, and ingredient alerts when data allows.

Can't scan? No problem.

  • Desktop ready:Useful when you're browsing packaged foods on your computer without a webcam.
  • Low-light backup: Manually enter codes when aisle lighting or glare makes scanning harder.
  • Online grocery checks: Copy and paste UPCs from online grocery listings or screenshots when available.
  • Camera-free access: Use digits when camera hardware or blurry labels get in the way.

What's inside every search?

  • Keto score: A score based on available nutrition and ingredient signals.
  • Net carb math: Net carb calculations when total carbs and fiber are available.
  • The 5-point verdict: Five clear categories: Excellent, Good, Caution, Avoid, or Unknown.
  • Hidden ingredient flags: Alerts for added sugars, sweeteners, or ingredient signals when label data supports them.
  • Data transparency: Short notes when data is missing or limited.

Supported barcode formats

  • North American standards (UPC-A): Supports the standard 12-digit codes found on most US and Canadian packaged products when product data is available.
  • International products (EAN-13): Supports the 13-digit codes used across Europe and other markets; coverage depends on available nutrition data.
  • Compact packaging (EAN-8): We offer "best-effort" support for 8-digit codes found on small items. If the digits validate, Keto Peek will try the lookup.

Can't find your product?

  • New to the shelf: Freshly released snacks or seasonal packaged products can take time to appear in product data sources.
  • Exclusive brands:Some "private label" or store-specific brands (like some Aldi or Trader Joe's items) don't always share their UPC data publicly.
  • Niche & local: Small-batch packaged products may not have public digital listings yet.
  • Typos & snippets: Double-check that you've entered all digits, including the smaller numbers on the far ends of the barcode.

FAQ

How do I use a UPC for a keto lookup?
Enter the 12 or 13-digit UPC/EAN code from the package. Keto Peek checks available product data and returns a verdict when nutrition is complete enough.
What types of food can I check for keto-friendliness?
Packaged grocery foods work best. Keto Peek uses available nutrition facts and ingredient data to return a verdict and net carb count when data allows.
Why is there no keto score for my barcode?
This usually happens if the barcode is incomplete or the product data is missing enough nutrition to calculate net carbs, such as total carbs or fiber.
Which barcode formats are supported?
UPC-A and EAN-13 are supported, but product coverage depends on what nutrition data is available from the app's data sources.
Is manual barcode entry reliable?
Manual entry is reliable when the digits match the package, but results still depend on available product data. If the barcode is missing, try typed product search.
